Explore the Chapada Dos Guimaraes Plateau which acts as a dividing
line between the Pantanal and the Amazon River basin. We will take a night canoe ride to spot Caiman
and other night creatures. With our expert naturalists, we will learn about conservation issues and
about the unique flora and fauna of this amazing ecosystem. The Pantanal Safari Trip ItineraryDay 1: RIO. We will begin our afternoon tour with a visit to the famous Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer statue that lies within the Tijuca Forest National Park, with a breathtaking panoramic view of this beautiful city. Visit Tijuca forest, this small park is all that is left from a tropical Jungle that once surrounded Rio De Janeiro. You will enjoy a welcome Brazilian dinner in the evening.Day 2: RIO. Free morning to stroll around Rio and visit her famous beaches. In the late afternoon we will take a cable car 4,200 feet above Rio to the top of Sugarloaf to view a sunset over Rio. As the day becomes night and the lights begin to sparkle, we will have a delightful view of this city. Days 3-5: CHAPADA DOS GUIMARAES. This rocky plateau is 64km northeast of Cuiaba and 800m higher than Cuiaba. We will visit the 60m Bridal Veil waterfalls and the unforgettable Hells Gate...a short hike to the top of Chapadas' highest point! Days 5-10: CUIABA. We will prepare for our next adventure, an exciting river trip to the heart of the Pantanal. We will take a kayak trip down the Cuiaba River to the Mutum River and establish a base camp at Mariana Lake. From here we will explore the Arrombabo Wildlife Refuge where mammals and birds are more visible than in any Neotropical rain forest. We will spend five days trekking, kayaking and exploring this fascinating place. Day 11: IGUAZU FALLS. Full day to observe the awesome falls. Day 12: RIO. Farewell dinner with music show, depart for the U.S. |

In this exciting adventure we will walk the canopy to the Amazon rain forest, search for tropical birds and flora, cruise the waters of Rio Negro, and visit local Caboclo settlements. |

Trip Itinerary Days 1-8: MANAUS. Transfer to hotel and welcome dinner. Transfer to the riverboat for a four-day river trip to Rio Negro. We will visit the world's largest fresh water Archipelago of Anavilhanas with its exuberant flora and fauna. Visit local caboclo villages and take night trips to observe nocturnal wildlife, we'll visit the Ariau jungle tower lodge the first treetop lodge in the Amazon. Early morning bird watching trip to January Biological Reserve and then return to Manaus where we will pass through the meeting-of-the-waters phenomena, where the Rio Negro river's black water stream runs side by side with Rio Solimoe's muddy water without mixing. We'll sail past the city port with views of the floating docks, market, and the old customhouse. Arrive at the hotel around noon. Days 9-10: IGUAZU FALLS. Fly to Iguazu. Visit the Argentine and Brazilian sides of these unforgettable falls, with its 275 waterfalls stretching 2 miles through subtropical vegetation and more than 500 species of colorful butterflies! Days 11-12: RIO. Tour of this magnificent city and its surrounding farewell dinner and music show will end our trip.
