Day-By-Day Itinerary

DAY 1 – Lima, Peru
Transfer to hotel.

DAY 2 – Lima/Cusco
Transfer to hotel, free day to acclimate. (B)

DAY 3 – Cusco tour
Free morning. Afternoon tour explores the deep spirituality of this ancient Incan capital. Visit the Temple of the Sun, a revered religious center during the Inca Empire, and Sacsayhuaman, believed to have been an astronomical observatory. End your day with an ancient ceremony at the Temple of the Moon. (B)

DAY 4 – Sacred Valley
Drive into the beautiful Sacred Valley and settle into your hotel, set on the grounds of a Spanish colonial monastery. Tour to Moray: Explore these ancient Incan agricultural terraces; The Salt Pools of Maras: Learn about centuries-old salt extraction as you hike along the salt pools; Agricultural Terraces of the Incas: A walking tour through ancient Incan agricultural terraces. DAY 5 – Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu
Journey on the backpackers train through panoramas of Indian villages, terraced fields and snow-capped Andean peaks. At Machu Picchu, our insightful guide will bring the citadel ruins to life with illuminating details of history and culture. An Andean ceremony provides insight into this rich culture. An afternoon train to Cusco. (B, L)

DAY 6 –Cusco
Free day to stroll around town. (B)

DAY 7 – CUSCO / LIMA
Half day tour of the old city of Kings. We will have a day room to refresh, evening transfer to the airport for a flight home. (B, L)
