Peru offers stunning Inca Ruins of Machu Picchu the Nazca lines on the Eastern coastal desert, the beautiful mountains of the Cordillera Blanca and the diverse Amazon basin Peru is a fascinating country for adventure travelers its culture rich history and variety of ecological zones will impress any visitor.
The Adventure starts in the capital city of Lima, drive south to Paracas Peninsula and Ballestes Island, fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines. We'll visit Ariquipa and Canyon Colca, sail the highest Navitgatable Lake in the world and visit the Amantani Island. We'll ride the train to the Inca capital Cuzco and hike the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: LIMA. Depart U.S., arrive in Lima.

Days 2-3: NAZCA.
Depart by bus to Nazca visiting en route the ruins of Pachacamac temple. Welcome dinner will conclude the first day. After breakfast, you will enjoy a 45 minute flight over the Nazca lines, etched into the coastal desert some 3,000 years ago.

Day 4: PARACAS. Morning cruise to Ballestas Island where you can see Boobies, Pelicans, Sea Lions and Hambodl Penguins.

Days 5-7: AREQUIPA. "The white city." This beautiful city surrounded by spectacular mountains preserving many fine colonial buildings. Afternoon tour of the city. A scenic and rewarding two-day trip to the town of Chivay passing the perfect cone of El Misty (11,200 ft.) and a Vicuna reserve on a beautiful plateau where we can see all four members of the South American cameloid family. Drive to "Condor Cross" observation point, from which condors may be spotted and visit canyon Colca.

Days 8-9: LAKE TITICACA. We will explore pre-Colombian funeral towers at Siliustani and Uros Islands. A boat ride to Amantani Island inhabited by natives, renowned for their fine handicrafts and carved stones.

Days 10-11: CUZCO. Tour of the city and nearby ruins of the magnificent SACSAYHUAMAN fortress the mysterious carved rock Kenko shrine, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay baths.

Days 12-16: URUBAMBA VALLEY AND MACHU PICCHU. After a short river-rafting adventure on the Urabamba River, we'll begin the 35-mile trek from Chillca to Llactapata at 8,860 feet. The first archaeological site on the trail Camp is at 9,000 feet. The morning climb to Llullu-Chapampa a mountain plateau is at 12,500 ft. And then we descend to the Pacamayo river camp at 12,000 feet. Cross the Runkuraqay Pass at 13,000 feet. Visit the archaeological site of Syacmarca camp site at 10,600 feet. Head down the astonishing Inca staircase to the Winay Wayna, one of the most beautiful Inca ruins built on a steep slope. We'll go to the Sun Gate for a breathtaking view of the "lost city" of Machu Picchu. Camp near the Urubamba River. We will explore this legendary city, view its stunning building and learn more about this fascinating city from our local guide. Train back to Cuzco.

Day 17: CUZCO. Free day. Dinner with folklore show.

Day 18: LIMA. End of trip.

The Amazon And Machu Picchu
photo This unique Adventure will take us from the Andean City of Cuzco to one of the most bio-diverse parks in the World. Manu Natural Park covers some 4 million acres and is home to many rare species of animals like the Black Caiman, Jaguar, 1,000 species of birds and more then 15,000 species of plants. This park is a paradise for nature lovers.
Trip Itinerary

Day 1: LIMA. Transfer to hotel, free afternoon, welcome dinner and folkshow.

Day 2: CUZCO. An afternoon guided tour of the city and the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puca Pucara, Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay.

Days 3-10: MANU NATIONAL PARK. Depart Cuzco early morning and transfer over the last two Andean ranges before plunging down in to the cloud forest of the eastern slopes. In the late afternoon we reach the Alto Madre de Dios river cross the river and transfer by Jeep to a comfortable converted tea hacienda known as Amazonia Lodge. We'll experience the varied sounds that will accompany your first night in a lowland Amazonian rain forest.

The following day you will walk through the forest to awaiting motorized dugouts canoe and head down the Rio Madre de Dios River up the Manu River and into the park. Here you'll have the first taste of multicolored parrots and macaws, vultures and maybe a Capybara, the world's largest rodent. You'll camp the first night on the white sand beach near the river bank.

After early breakfast, we'll head to the park ranger station where we'll register with the park authorities. Early afternoon, arrive at a beautiful lake of Cocha Salvador that will be the base camp for the next few days. Our naturalist guide will explain some of the basics of rain forest ecology that will help us understand the complexity of the forest. We'll be on the lookout for the endangered giant Otter, Monkeys, Macaws, Black Caiman and with little luck the elusive Jaguar. After breakfast we'll board a boat for the last time and head up the Madre Del Dios River to a small airstrip. A spectacular 40-minute flight will take us back to Cuzco. We'll have a free afternoon to shop and relax.

Day 11: MACHU PICCHU. A full day tour to Machu Picchu where we will stroll this well preserved city hidden from the conquering Spaniards, with its perfectly cut stone buildings. Tour the hot springs of Agua Caliente.

Day 12: CUZCO. Free day to explore this lovely city. Dinner with a folkshow will conclude this trip.
