The Amazon rainforest, covering much of northwestern Brazil and extending into Colombia, Peru and other South American countries, is the world’s largest tropical rainforest, famed for its biodiversity. It’s crisscrossed by thousands of rivers, including the powerful Amazon. River towns, with 19th-century architecture from rubber-boom days, include Brazil’s Manaus and Belém and Peru’s Iquitos and Puerto Maldonado.

Chachopoya and Machu Picchu

Northern Peru is rich in archeology, history and offers quite a geographical contrast to the southern region of Peru. From the 1st to the 15th Century AD, this region was home to some of South America’s most prominent cultures – Moche, Lambayeque, Chimu and Chachapaoyas – who were exquisite craftsmen and excelled in the skills of ceramics, agriculture, architecture, metallurgy and warfare. Inca Trail and Tambopata Rain Forest

In this adventure you will explore a small part of the vast 30,000 km of roads built by the Inca’s and visit the magnificent ruins of Machu Picchu. In the second half you will explore the Tambopata rain forest, one of the most diverse forests on Earth. You will have a chance to see some birds and monkeys and will have a night excursion to spot Caiman and other night creatures.
